I have been a fan of Daniel's work for a while now。 I have read and loved each and every book that he has released to date。 I read the synopsis of 'The Intruder' and it certainly sounded like the sort of book I have come to expect from Daniel- a slow burner of a psychological thriller with several twists and turns added for good measure。 Well it was all that and so much more。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Intruder' but more about that in a bit。I was drawn into this book from the moment I rea I have been a fan of Daniel's work for a while now。 I have read and loved each and every book that he has released to date。 I read the synopsis of 'The Intruder' and it certainly sounded like the sort of book I have come to expect from Daniel- a slow burner of a psychological thriller with several twists and turns added for good measure。 Well it was all that and so much more。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Intruder' but more about that in a bit。I was drawn into this book from the moment I read the synopsis and the story within the book's covers sealed the deal as it were。 Once I started reading the story properly that was it and I was away as the saying goes。 To say that reading 'The Intruder' became addictive is a bit of an understatement。 I would pick the book up only intending to read a chapter or two but I would become so wrapped up in the story and in the lives of the different characters that I would still be sat there reading several chapters and an hour or so later。 I can't say that I warmed to the characters but I found getting to know them rather interesting to say the least。 I seemed to gallop through the story and all too quickly I got to the end of the book。 I found 'The Intruder' to be a gripping, tense and dramatic read, which certainly kept me guessing and which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout。'The Intruder' is extremely well written but then I have come to expect nothing less from Daniel Hurst。 He certainly knows how to grab the reader's attention and draw them into what proves to be one hell of a story and then some。 For me, this was more of a slow burn type of story。 It starts off at a fairly steady pace and then the pace gathers momentum as the story continues, which leads to a tense and dramatic conclusion。 The story is divided up into chapters with each chapter being written from the point of view of the main characters。 Some of the chapters focus on events from the past and help to explain why David feels so bitter about his former employers。 This was one of those stories which had more layers to it than you would find on a parcel in a game of 'Pass The Parcel'。 You start off with one storyline or problem and then there are several sub plots which feed into the main story。 Reading 'The Intruder' felt like being on an unpredictable rollercoaster ride with several twists and turns along the way。 I love the way in which Daniel makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story themselves and at the heart of the action。In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Intruder' and I would recommend this book to other readers。 I will definitely be reading more of Daniel's work in the future。 The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*。 。。。more

Maria and William have built a business together that has made them wealthy。 They have two sweet children。 What happens when William wrongs an employee? Will that person exact revenge? This is one of the few books that genuinely surprised me。

The two of us were going to be alone in the house together。 The last time we tried that, a man broke in and tried to kill me。 Now I fear that the danger might already be inside my home。I really struggled to get into this one。 Maybe because I couldn't reconcile with a man waiting six months to terrorize a couple who fired him。 There were also seemingly endless chapters detailing the couples happy marriage and work life。 It all seemed too far fetched but I've enjoyed Daniel Hurst's work before and The two of us were going to be alone in the house together。 The last time we tried that, a man broke in and tried to kill me。 Now I fear that the danger might already be inside my home。I really struggled to get into this one。 Maybe because I couldn't reconcile with a man waiting six months to terrorize a couple who fired him。 There were also seemingly endless chapters detailing the couples happy marriage and work life。 It all seemed too far fetched but I've enjoyed Daniel Hurst's work before and kept pushing through。 There were definitely some big surprises I didn't see coming and definitely some I saw from a mile away。 Otherwise highly entertaining and an ending with a twist。 **Thanks to Inkubator Books and Netgalley for my free ARC。 。。。more

I really enjoy Daniel Hurst's books - he is like James Patterson for me, a prolific thriller writer who never fails you! This is the second book I’ve read by Daniel and let me say WOW just WOW! I am a big fan of Hurst psychological thrillers and this o e was no exception。 William and Maria are married with two kids and own a successful business, but one night when a former employee invades their home and threatens them, the truth comes to light。 William is not the man Maria believes him to be and when the truth comes to light, watch out!
